Meet The Owner

Lindsey Hershberger, DPT

Thanks for stopping by! I’m Lindsey Hershberger, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the owner of Empower. For nearly 15 years, I’ve been blessed with a front row seat to witness the transformative and protective power of exercise for people with Parkinson’s and neurological disorders.

Dr. Lindsey Hershberger. Physical therapist and Parkinson's Specialist. Empower Balance Therapy & Wellness. Waynesville Ohio

I believe wholeheartedly that personalized exercise is a powerful, life changing medicine, especially for those with chronic illnesses.

Throughout my career, I found that while most patients understood the importance of exercise, few felt confident putting it into action. Patients were inspired by the improvements they made during physical therapy, but worried they couldn’t keep it up after they were discharged.

They wanted more. More coaching. More confidence. More progress.

It became my mission is to shift the standard beyond encouraging exercise, to prescribing and personalizing movement medicine.

I want every client to have the confidence that they are getting their movement medicine right, and can keep getting it right, for life.

In 2022, I opened Empower Balance Therapy & Wellness. Empower’s physical therapy is here to get you back on your feet, and our personalized exercise programs are prescribed to keep you on your feet, or better yet, get them running!

By providing seamless transitions between physical therapy and personalized exercise, you can change your story from patient to athlete. Your progress shouldn’t stop when PT is over. Let’s keep your momentum rolling and build your best future.

I met my husband, Nate, while I was finishing up PT school and he was working as a PT at Ohio State. We have some riveting dinner conversations talking gait patterns and back pain:) We have three, sweet and energetic sons that keep us on the move. My favorite hobbies include traveling, exploring local parks and trails with my boys, running, home improvement projects and listening to music around our firepit.
